Chernomortransneft has commenced replacing a 10 kV outdoor factory-assembled switchgear (OFASG) at Sulak oil pumping station (PS) affiliated with Tikhoretsk Regional Oil Trunk Pipeline Directorate (TROTPD).
The OFASG will ensure uninterrupted power supply to the station. The replacement is being done under the technical upgrading, revamping and overhaul programme (TUR&OH), in compliance with construction regulations, electrical installations set up standards and Transneft’s regulations.
The OFASG with the operating voltage of 10 kilovolt (kV) is a set of factory-assembled block-modular structures to be mounted on fifteen reinforced concrete piles. Complete assembly and installation of the structure will take longer than a month. The switchgear is fitted with modern hardware components along with upgraded equipment and instruments, which drastically increases its reliability. The main task of the OFASG is to feed power to main pump units, packaged transformer substation and auxiliary equipment. The OFASG will be put into operation in phases and main pump units’ equipment will be reconnected to it one step at a time, without shutting down the pumping process.
Apart from that, reliability of electrical equipment and units have been increased within the scope of the TUR&OH Programme at facilities of Tikhoretsk Regional Oil Trunk Pipeline Directorate. All in all, five electric motors of main pump units have been replaced at Sulak and Samur PSs. An indoor switchgear has been renovated at PS No. 3 of Tikhoretskaya oil transshipment depot. Two diesel power plants (25 kW and 63 kW) have been installed in the line portion of the Grozny–Baku and Malgobek–Tikhoretsk oil pipelines, respectively, to improve the reliability of power supply. Overhaul of a 110 kV overhead transmission line (OTL) is underway at the said facilities. Besides, repairs of electrochemical protective equipment continue at the Malgobek–Tikhoretsk OTP.
