Chernomortransneft's Krasnodar Regional Oil Trunk Pipelines Directorate (KROTPD) is celebrating the 55th anniversary of its founding.
Krasnodar ROTPD was established on 26 June, 1963 by order No. 99 of Glavneftesnab (the Main Directorate for Oil and Petroleum Products) of the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic (RSFSR). At that time, along with the newly constructed Tikhoretsk – Tuapse and Tikhoretsk – Novorossiysk pipelines, it included already-operating oil trunk pipelines supplying raw materials to regional refineries. The unit's main task was to ensure reliable and safe operation of oil trunk pipelines, oil pumping stations and tank farms, as well as to revamp and repair facilities and the introduce modern equipment.
Krasnodar Directorate includes 11 business units. The main production facility is Krymskaya line operation dispatcher station (LODS). It consists of three oil pumping stations (PS), a tank farm, Krymskaya, Karskaya and Smolenskaya sites and Krasnodarsky and Afipsky pipeline metering stations (PMS). KROTPD operates 1,163 km of trunk pipelines. The main ones are the Tikhoretsk – Tuapse 1,2 and the Tikhoretsk – Novorossiysk 1,2,3 pipelines (export direction). In addition, Krasnodar OTPD supplies oil to Krasnodarsky, Afipsky, Ilsky and Tuapse refineries.
Krasnodar OTPD has implemented significant projects for the industry. It was among the first Transneft system enterprises to introduce a parametric oil leakage detection system at the Tikhoretsk – Tuapse oil trunk pipeline, and soon afterwards a combined oil leakage detection system was installed at the trunk pipeline. Modernisation and improvement of both the facilities and their monitoring systems continues.
In addition, Krasnodar Regional Directorate has implemented a large-scale project to increase supplies of oil to refineries in Krasnodar Region. In 2017, throughput capacity was expanded for two OTPs: the Khadyzhensk – Krasnodar oil trunk pipeline leading to Afipsky refinery and the Krymsk – Krasnodar oil trunk pipeline leading to Ilsky refinery. As part of the project, a total of four oil pumping stations were revamped, more than 4 km of line portion was built and three tanks were erected.
