Chernomortransneft has completed scheduled repairs of the following three oil trunk pipelines (OTPs): the Sukhodolnaya – Rodionovskaya, the Lisichansk – Tikhoretsk-1 and the Tikhoretsk – Novorossiysk-2 OTPs.

Repair and operational staff of Tikhoretsk Regional Oil Trunk Pipeline Directorate (TROTPD) and a contractor replaced two substandard pressure taps and dismantled an air escape valve at the Sukhodolnaya – Rodionovskaya OTP.

Two new sections of the Lisichansk – Tikhoretsk-1 oil trunk pipeline with a total length of 4.6 km were connected. A new PIG trap was connected at Kushchevskaya PS-1 of the Lisichansk – Tikhoretsk-1 OTP; the PIG trap is equipped with pressure-resistant sliding gate valves, as well as power supply and remote control networks. The PIG trap is designed to pass modern pipeline inspection gadgets (PIGs) through it in order to more precisely assess the condition of the pipeline.

In addition, repairs were performed at Tikhoretskaya PS-3 during a planned shutdown of the Tikhoretsk – Novorossiysk-2 OTP. Unit valves of the process pipeline were replaced due to expiration of their service life.

All repairs were performed within Chernomortransneft’s integrated technical upgrading, revamping, and overhaul programme in order to ensure uninterrupted and safe operation of oil trunk pipelines.
