Chernomortransneft has completed scheduled replacement of two sections of the Tikhoretsk – Tuapse oil trunk pipeline (OTP).

Two new sections with a total length exceeding 6.5 km were laid, and 2 line valves were mounted at the Khadyzhenskaya LODS – Zarechye PS segment. Hydraulic tests were carried out at the new pipeline sections with the help of the central maintenance division (CMD-1, 2) of Krasnodar and Tikhoretsk Regional Oil Trunk Pipeline Directorates and the OOO SMU-3 constructors.

Cooperatively with specialists of Transneft Diascan an inspection was performed using in-line inspection tools that allow obtaining the most complete information on the technical condition.

In addition, an aerial crossing of the Tikhoretsk – Tuapse oil trunk pipeline over the Pshish River and the OTP’s crossing under the Maykop – Tuapse highway were replaced. Four substandard air escape valves were replaced with prefabricated air escape tees designed for withdrawing oil. 5 substandard pressure tap units and 2 pipeline defects were cut out of a pipeline with a service life limit of up to 2021.

All works were carried out as part of the comprehensive technical upgrading, revamping and overhaul programme implemented by Chernomortransneft in order to ensure uninterrupted and safe operation of oil trunk pipelines.
