Chernomortransneft has completed reconstruction of three sections of the Grozny–Baku oil trunk pipeline (OTP) with a total length of more than 2.5 km within a technical upgrading programme.

Experts replaced linear portion sections of the OTP running across the Republic of Daghestan. It took them five months to perform the repairs; all this time the Grozny–Baku OTP continued operating and the volume of pumped oil did not decrease.

The applied pipe-laying technology and engineering protection equipment helped completely eliminate the risk of oil spills during the reconstruction. After the new sections successfully passed hydraulic tests, they were connected to the existing OTP and put into operation.

The purpose of the reconstruction was to ensure failure-proof operation and environmental safety of the oil trunk pipeline system of Chernomortransneft.
